The State of Missouri allows any individual or any business to re-direct up to half of what is owed in Missouri State income tax to education. The Bright Futures Fund provides Catholic school scholarships, funded with tax dollars you are required to pay anyway, to qualifying families based on income and learning challenges.

You will reserve and pay for tax credits this year (before December 31) and will receive 100% credit for the same amount when you file taxes for 2025.  You are diverting tax dollars you would have to pay anyway into scholarships! 
  • Estimate your tax liability based on what you owed the state of Missouri last year (or what you anticipate owing). You can look at your W-2, boxes 16 & 17, to guide you.
  • Click the button above to link to the MO State Treasurer's website and fill out the fields of information requested.
  • Reserve up to half of what you will owe the state of MO.
  • Choose BRIGHT FUTURES FUND as your EAO (Educational Assistance Organization) in the drop down menu.
  • Digitally sign and click "SUBMIT".  
You will receive a confirmation email from the state of Missouri.  Print and save your confirmation number.
Write your check to the Bright Futures Fund for the amount reserved and mail by December 31 to:

After your funds are received and verified, you will receive an email receipt from the MO State Treasurer's Office. Include the receipt and an MO-TC form with your state income tax filing.
  • Reserved tax credits are equal to 100% of an eligible contribution and can be used for up to 50% of the donor's annual tax liability.
  • Click on MO-TC form link above or search MO-TC at http://dor.mo.gov/forms/
  • ​Tax credits may be carried forward for four additional tax years. Tax credits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be sold.
